Danielle Phillips

Danielle Phillips, MSN, RN, CPNP-AC recently completed her master's degree in nursing and has joined a pediatric surgery team as a Nurse Practitioner focusing on all aspects of pediatric surgery, including burns and trauma. She is board-certified as a Nurse Practitioner in pediatric acute care by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board, and is certified in Emergency Pediatric Nursing Course and Trauma Nursing Care Course.
Prior to joining with the pediatric surgery team, Danielle spent the majority of her nursing career in a rural community hospital Emergency Department. This experience has shaped her understanding of the critical need for specialized care in the Emergency settings, particularly for vulnerable populations. She has completed the Adult Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner course and has strong interest in providing trauma informed care and support to survivors of sexual assault. Recognizing the emotional and physical toll that trauma/sexual assault can inflict, Danielle is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where survivors can receive the care they need.
Outside of her professional commitments, Danielle enjoys spending time with her family, her husband and their dog. She also enjoys cooking and engaging in outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, and golf. She believes in the importance of work-life balance and looks forward to making a positive influence in the lives of all of her patients and their families.
Why do you want to dedicate your time to help govern MFE?
Danielle values lifelong learning and is a member of several professional organizations, including Michigan Forensic Examiners. Her drive is rooted in the hope that every survivor can discover their own strength and resilience as they navigate their recovery journey. She is honored to advocate for and participate in initiatives that promote healing, with the goal being to contribute to a broader understanding of the importance of trauma-informed practices in various fields, including healthcare, mental health, and social services.
